Farmington Hills Harrison 2019 CB/RB Rod Heard went out of state for the weekend taking a trip first to Cincinnati then Indiana and finally Kentucky for the weekend.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound corner was offered by both Cincinnati and Indiana following his visits becoming his 15th and 16th offers which include Purdue, Iowa State, and Syracuse among others.

“My visit at Indiana went great, I had a chance to see all the things they’re building like a new weight room, Jumbotron, and an academic hall,” says Heard.

Heard also had great things to say about the staff at Indiana and the level of play they compete at.

“I had a chance to talk to the coaches, I had some good laughs with Coach Shelby and went to the basketball game. I love the Big Ten offer, I want to play at the top level of football and that’s definitely a conference that plays at that level.”

Despite not receiving an offer from Kentucky yet, Heard had good things to say about the Wildcats too.

“I like Kentucky too, I went to their basketball game too and took some cold pictures, and talked to some coaches.”

What’s next for the 3 star defensive back? Well nothing officially set yet he has an idea where he might be next for a visit.

“Right now, I’ve been talking to Michigan, Iowa State, Minnesota, Syracuse, Western Michigan, and Eastern Michigan about getting on campus soon.”

Heard will try to make the most of his summer circuit on the recruiting trail while last year he was kept out and fell behind the recruiting trail due to an unfortunate neck injury. A very good Junior season got him right in the mix to be one of the top corners in the state in the 2019 class
