Prospects Recap from Hamady vs. Byron Area (Story)
Hamady behind a big senior class is loaded with talent and didn't take their foot off the gas vs. Byron until time finally ran out in this 13 touchdown game. The Hawks replied with a touchdown following each of Byron's first 2 touchdowns.
We'll review some of the top players from the game:
Hamady:
No one had a bigger impact in the game than 2019 WR/DB Tre Davis. Davis had a nice jump ball interception across the middle of the field to get going. He didn't look back from there as the ATH scored 3 more touchdowns, in impressive fashion. Davis also hauled in a impressive 1-handed catch on Byron's sideline.
2019 S/ATH Koriante Moore was solid for Hamady at QB and S. Moore's #2 was involved in a lot of plays through the day, the 6'2 180 lbs Moore has a frame that can add much more muscle.
2019 WR/CB Ali Brewster was a player we knew on Hamady who could do damage and he had some good plays. His best was a kickoff returned for a touchdown following a Byron touchdown.
2019 RB/DB DeShawn Gibson who was formerly at Carman-Ainsworth went crazy for the Hawks on Thursday with 2 impressive rushing touchdowns from 17 and 41 yards out. Gibson had a 50 something yard touchdown called back from an unnecessary flag. Gibson on his 41 yard touchdown displayed a tremendous ability to turn the switch to another level and hit the sideline.
2021 DT/OG Jalani York was solid in the trenches and is someone to know for the future.
2020 ATH Deonte McCoy despite being one of the smallest players on the field, was the most elusive and played QB well for the Hawks. McCoy on several occasions had a snap go over his head, he would pick it up - make people miss and get positive yards still. McCoy had several ankle breaking jukes and is certainly a recruit for Slot in college.
Byron Area:
2019 QB/S Kyle Hulett is a nice 6' 190 lbs prospect. We see Hulett on the defensive side of the ball, Safety with good instincts and a competitive player who should draw NAIA and D3 interest.
2020 WR/CB Josh Green is another hard-nosed Byron player with good ball-skills and had some nice plays in coverage. NAIA/D3 level prospect at this point. Also scored on a scoop and score.
2021 DT/OT Andrew Petitt is no body to look past, at 6'6 340 lbs for a sophomore. Petitt had a nice sack and forced fumble that resulted in a touchdown and throughout the game he blocked well and clogged the middle.
